Overview

This position provides direct support to Private Development Clients in Land Acquisition, Due Diligence and Project Management activities. The Development Services Manager (DCM) may work for several clients at one time and may participate in the development of new clients through direct relationships and participation in industry marketing and networking events. This position requires strong interpersonal skills, ability to work under variable deadlines and some travel to visit project sites, agency staff and client offices. This position may require direct supervision of employees supporting this department.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities generally include supporting the Client in obtaining land ownership and parcel background information, due diligence activities, overseeing site planning and securing land use entitlements, and working with governmental jurisdictions. Land Acquisition activities may include obtaining and evaluating background information to be used in the preparation of real estate acquisition packages as well as preparing and presenting information to Client’s Management group. Due diligence activities may include preparation of development budgets and fee estimates, feasibility studies, coordinating other consultants and meetings with agencies to ascertain permits, fee and planning requirements associated with Client’s goals. Project Management activities may include developing scopes and managing other consultants, managing tentative tract map approval, civil plan development and approvals, obtaining necessary permits and approvals for assigned projects from local jurisdictions, including bidding, managing, and directing outside consultants and contractors as needed, in order to meet Client objectives, goals, and overall business plan. Responsible for support and coordination role between Client’s Land Development, Finance, Marketing and Construction departments.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years minimum prior experience in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Public Planning and/or Forward Planning with a familiarity in dealing with Governmental Agencies and Project Management.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Planning, Real Estate or other applicable disciplines).
  • Management of multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency to meet the demands of the business.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage internal budget and billing activities for all clients.

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

USD $81.00 – USD $220.00 /Hr.
