Org. Setting and Reporting This position is located in the Meetings Support Section, Meetings and Publishing Division, Department for General Assembly and Conference Management, New York. Under the general supervision of the Director, Meetings and Publishing Division, the Programme Management Officer will report to the Chief of Section.
Responsibilities Within delegated authority, the Programme Management Officer, Administration will be responsible for the following duties:
Competencies
Education Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, communications, information systems, social science or a related field. A first-level degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in the specified fields of studies with two additional years of relevant work experience in training and development may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Work Experience A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in project or programme management, administration, supervision, or related experience is required. Experience in managing projects and teams related to document preservation in the United Nations or another large international organization is required. Experience with PRINCE2 or similar project management methodology is required.
Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this job opening, English is required. Assessment Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.
