Background

The Community Delivery Group oversees policy development and operational guidance for Unpaid Work, Interventions and Sentence Management teams across the 12 Probation regions. Working closely with other workstreams within CDG including Interventions (Accredited Programmes), Sentence Management and Enforcement and Targeting. 

You will be part of a multi-faceted team and work closely with colleagues from across our regions and other programmes within the Probation Operations Directorate and wider Directorates.

Role Overview

The role is to provide email and diary management and general administrative support to the Community Delivery Team Senior Leadership Team and the wider team as required by providing a professional and efficient service.

  • The job holder will be required to prioritise meetings and manage diaries in an efficient and practical way.
  • Interaction with internal and external stakeholders will be required as well as the preparation of papers for meetings along with other administrative tasks.
  • The job holder will maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times.
  • Manage diaries for senior leadership team.
  • Anticipate and identify potential problems in relation to issues arising within the diaries, particularly with clashes of appointments and when priorities can change at very short notice.
  • To provide prompt accurate and well-presented work. Type and amend a range of documents and correspondence.
  • Type up Ministerial submissions, correspondence, minutes etc.
  • Provide other administrative support as and where required such as room bookings, collating, sending out papers for meetings and other practical tasks required.
  • Takes minutes/notes at meetings and writing them up to a high standard.
  • Maintain action logs for meetings. 

Essential Skills/Knowledge

  • Experience of minute taking and general administrative tasks.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Excellent IT skills.
