Pay Range: $21.00/hr. – 28.00/hr. (Depending on experience).
Job Description:
Francis O. Day Co., Inc., a respected paving and excavation company that operates in Rockville, Maryland is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. A successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing our fleet of heavy-duty trucks and paving equipment. This role requires someone with a strong mechanical background, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and has their own set of tools. Flexibility is key, as you will be available for both day and night shifts.
Job Duties:

• Maintenance & Repairs: Conduct routine inspections, diagnose issues, and perform repairs on trucks and related equipment to ensure peak performance.
• Troubleshooting: Quickly identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to minimize downtime.
• Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
• Tool Management: Bring and maintain your own set of tools, ensuring they are ready for use at all times.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to safety protocols and company policies during all operations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the team to coordinate repairs and support overall fleet management.

Requirements:

• Proven 2 years or more experience as a truck or heavy-duty vehicle mechanic .
• Must supply your own professional set of tools.
• Flexibility to work both day and night shifts.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Excellent communication and time management skills.
