Position description
This position is responsible for the production of ETI’s media content and ETI’s digital footprint.
At its core, the candidate will be tasked with the production of the Emerging Tech Horizons Podcast (ETHP) from initial contact with guests, to run of show, and post production. The ETHP’s goal is to provide information and insights about new and emerging defense technological trends from the niche position of ETI, at the intersection of government and the defense industrial base.
Additionally, the candidate will work to maintain ETI’s digital presence in its website and social media. Exceptional candidates will have experience and/or education in media and communications, be problem solvers, flexible, team workers, and have at least a basic interest and understanding in US national security topics covered on the topic.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Podcast
-
Manage the full podcast production lifecycle of the ETHP from pre-production planning and recording to post-production editing and publishing. Working to ensure timely delivery of clean, polished episodes.

Support studio operations and ensure the smooth functioning of all recording equipment (audio and video), working closely with consultant support and vendors as needed.

Serve as a liaison with podcast guests and hosts, managing communications, scheduling, and logistics with professionalism and discretion.

Maintain high production standards for sound quality and visual appeal, content flow, and brand consistency.

Manage podcast distribution (e.g., Spotify, YouTube), including uploads and analytics tracking.

Collaborate with communications, digital, and events teams to develop relevant promotional and marketing content.

Monitor podcast performance metrics and generate insights to guide content planning and growth strategies.

Follow podcast trends and share relevant recommendations on improvements to content, format, technology, or distribution.
Website

Serves as coordinator of content for the ETI website, uploading publications, improving navigation, visual appeal.

Working with NDIA teams to incorporate website edits as NDIA site is updated
Social Media

Manages ETI social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube), ensuring distribution of information highlighting ETI publications, events, podcasts.

Identifies, plans, and supports the growth of ETI’s digital presence

EXPECTED WORKING CONDITIONS:

Hybrid working schedule, with some mandatory in-office days and required in-office presence as needed to perform job functions.

Coordinates closely with Executive Director, Operations Manager, and staff to ensure ETI’s digital presence is in sync with workflow and ETI priorities.

Maintains close and frequent contact with the ETI Executive Director, Research staff, Meetings Manager, IT Manager, ETI Interns, and other NDIA staff.

Has extensive contact with guests of ETHP, and collaborators with ETI, that include stakeholders in government, industry, and academia.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Interest in ETI’s mission and programs; familiarity with foreign policy and national security.

Must live within commuting distance from Arlington, VA and be available to work from ETI’s office in accordance with office schedule, specific duty assignments, and podcast(s) recording schedules.

Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Understanding of defense industry marketing and communications incentives, styles, and constraints
Podcast

Demonstrated experience with studio setups for both audio and video, including cameras, microphones, lighting, and editing workflows.

Proven success booking and managing guests, or experts in a communications or media context.

Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience drafting briefing materials and coordinating across teams.

Experience managing podcast publishing platforms and performance analytics.

Familiarity with digital content promotion, especially across social media channels.

Knowledge of recording equipment and microphones.

Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro

Familiarity with audio troubleshooting

Understanding of Spotify for Creators and YouTube analytics, marketing, and promotions.
