EY Consulting is made up of three sub-service lines: Business Consulting (including Performance Improvement and Risk Consulting), Technology Consulting and People Advisory Services. 

We help our clients in identifying and managing the interplay between upside and downside risk in order to make the long-term decisions to prevent risk and impact on their organization’s ability to meet its future business strategy and objectives. The 3 key fields of play are :

Enterprise Risk – helps clients identify and address key risk areas, while building the agility to respond quickly. The areas of focus include Enterprise risk and resilience, Internal audit, Compliance and Internal controls

Technology Risk – helps clients to achieve sustainable growth by supporting their efforts to protect their business performance and by providing trusted communications on internal control and regulatory compliance to investors, management, regulators, customers and other stakeholders. EY teams accomplish this by assessing the technology risks that are introduced to businesses.

Financial Services Risk – helps clients in the financial sector to identify, manage and monitor the risks in their business. It is done through a transformative and agile approach including process and procedures, risk, data modeling and analytics, reporting to stakeholders and third parties, business requirements (for software selection and IT implementation), analysis of assets and liabilities, and capital and liquidity management.

Your key responsibilities

Technical Excellence

• Strategic Leadership:
• Develop and implement the strategic vision for the Risk & Finance practice in EMEIA, aligning it with broader organizational goals.
• Drive growth initiatives, enhance service offerings, and ensure delivery excellence across the region.
• Client Engagement:
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and challenges in risk management and finance.
• Lead high-profile client engagements, ensuring the delivery of innovative solutions that add value.
• Team Management:
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of consultants, fostering a culture of collaboration, excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee recruitment, training, and talent development within the practice.
• Market Insights:
• Stay informed about market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks within the finance sector.
• Utilize insights to shape service offerings and drive business development efforts.
• Risk Management Solutions:
• Develop and refine risk management frameworks, methodologies, and tools to enhance client engagement.
• Collaborate with other service lines to provide integrated solutions to clients.
• Thought Leadership:
• Contribute to EY’s thought leadership by publishing articles, white papers, and reports on risk and finance topics.
• Represent EY at industry events, conferences, and forums.

Skills and attributes

To qualify for the role you must have

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in risk management, financial services consulting, or a related field, with a focus on EMEIA markets.
• Proven track record in leading teams and managing large-scale consulting engagements.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of financial regulations and risk frameworks.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to think strategically and drive innovation in service delivery.

Experience

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Director to lead our Business Consulting Risk & Finance practice in the EMEIA region. This role requires a deep understanding of risk management, financial services, and the ability to drive growth and innovation within our consulting offerings.
