Position Description:
The Director, Management Consulting is a professional advisor with extended experience in the Business Consulting industry that assists clients to align business activities with the organization’s purpose and achieve business objectives by defining and solving management and business problems, identifying, and seizing new opportunities; broadening the scope of client initiatives; and implementing change.
A Director, Management Consulting level can effectively lead sizeable, complex projects with strong domain eminence and grounding in at least three or more areas of expertise, likely falling across multiple domains. This is client-facing, billable role with responsibility for generating revenue growth.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
- Act as trusted Executive advisor to account base; consult c-suite executives to provide business-specific expertise and consultative services in the development and execution of innovative strategy
- Lead and contribute to overall business development goals through the management of sales targets and procurement of new business; create proposals, pitch to prospective clients, write/review contracts and manage accounts & relationship
- Develop and grow practice capabilities in targeted growth areas; develop and contribute to new offerings and thought leadership leading to additional project opportunities and client relationships
- Lead in the design, development and implementation of new services and solutions in response to market needs, driving incremental revenue and margin for CGI
- Develop business cases and business/transition plans including presenting to senior level client stakeholders
- Nurture deep subject matter expertise and demonstrates thought leadership in areas that clients recognize and value. This includes expertise in client industries, business domains and/or relevant service areas
- Protect and enhance CGI’s reputation in the market place through a combination of excellent client relationships, outstanding delivery in challenging projects, and proactive identification of opportunities and solutions to address client needs
- Contribute to the identification and development of new management consulting services and methods
- Execute on development programs to support and grow team capabilities aligned to practice strategy; support and grow team members, build capability, and contribute to the overall coaching and development of talent in the team

- Facilitates client and stakeholder groups to consensus on complex issues using creative facilitation techniques
- Exhibits solid understanding in the major analysis and modeling standards used in Business Consultancy and Technology Consulting projects
Service Delivery (Consulting and Project Management)
- Ensures that findings, conclusions, and recommendations are compelling and presented in a way that resonates with multiple stakeholders (clients)
- Uses logic and creativity to contribute significantly to resolution of complex strategic issues in a team context or as a sole contributor
- Identifies and establishes relationships both internally and externally to achieve robust support of solution development
- Recognizes the potential impact of market trends, regulatory demands, and political influences on consulting outputs and adapts these to suit the needs of the client
Strategy and Business Management
- Contributes significantly to the understanding of strategic issues and development of workable alternatives and solutions in a team context
- Advises clients in multiple business areas to ensure the overall goals and strategies of the organization align
- Develops complete project facilitation strategies including workshop agendas, problem-solving pathways and facilitation techniques, customized to resolve client issues
- Coaches client leaders to be successful in leading change
- Through stakeholder analysis, identifies key opinion leaders in the client’s environment required to implement the proposed changes
Business Development
- Manages, develops, and delivers complete, high-quality, tailored client proposals
- Develops and delivers content for short-list and other sales presentations
- Works with clients to elicit requirements, develops business cases and provides strategic recommendations to advance their initiatives
Knowledge Management
- Proactively communicates with others inside and outside the organization to build upon ideas, new learning and best practices
- Serves as a domain expert at conferences, in communities of practice, and through the use of social media

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Management Consulting Industry
- Organizational understanding of a minimum of 2 areas of typical business consulting businesses like Strategy consulting, roadmapping and assessments, operations and organization change
- Operational Excellence certification (e.g. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt) and in-depth knowledge with rigorous application of various methodologies:
- Hoshin Kanri
- SIPOC
- Process Maturity Assessment
- Operations Management Experience (understanding of flow, JIT concept, Cost of Poor Quality)
