Job Summary
Introba is seeking a Director, Fire Engineering to join our dynamic leadership team.

Responsibilities & Qualifications
Duties and Responsibilities:
Marketing
- Increase industry profile of Introba within sector/consultancy service and be highly visible as a recognised sector/consultancy service expert.
- Lead, implement and execute the sector and technical business development plan for the group.
- Exceed revenue targets on an annual basis as identified and agreed upon with the Managing Director in alignment with the annual strategic business plan.
- Active role in work winning for sector/consultancy service team – focusing on client retention and supporting others for new clients/service streams.
- Manage sales to achieve a minimum carry over of 50% NSR backlog for consulting service team.
- Key client account management
People
- Utilize leadership skills and motivation techniques to maximize employee engagement, productivity and retention.
- Leads by example and mentor’s staff. Maintain staff morale and seek improvement in calibre of new recruits.
- Meet regularly with all team members to ensure issues are identified and action plans are in place, conduct team performance reviews, work with leadership to identify, support and promote high performing talent.
- Recommend training requirements, partner with HR on design team issues and work with the Talent attraction team for the recruitment and retention of team to support growth in the UK.
- Influences effectively to people inside and outside of the organization as required.
Financial
- Provide workload forecasting as new projects are secured and provide progress analysis regarding prospective unsecured projects.
- Seeks to exceed profitability targets for sector or service line set within yearly budget plans for sector team/consultancy services.
- Achieve budget DLM, chargeability and Productivity Factors for sector team/consultancy service, ensure Deltek Financial system is updated with project plans on a regular basis and oversee staff in their resource and financial planning.
- Accounts receivables for projects to be less than DSO of 75 days, AR’s of less than 65 days.
- Ensures accuracy and completeness of teams’ internal information generated, in particular backlog reporting, forecasting, project planning, WIP reporting and cashflow, total WIP and project write downs not to exceed 5% of annual NSR for sector team/consultancy service.
Technical
- Be seen as the Fire Engineering technical expert within the firm and industry by actively tracking, researching, leading new developments in innovative design; included participating in seminars and / or professional associations, attend trade shows relevant to company’s interests. Engage in progress tasks that develop the business and promote wider impact in the industry.
- Effect and implement programs to improve the quality of our service, products and systems to meet client’s requirements and expectations and to minimize costs and maximize the company’s competitive position.
- Instill the concept of quality being the responsibility of every design team member. Lead internal reviews to promote best practice.
- Train staff in all phases of design process to ensure continuation of technical design operation when absent from the office or when staff is on vacation.
- Mentor and promote quality issues with all members and in particular ensures that the quality control function is effectively performed.
- Assure field review services are provided to ensure adherence of contract documents, conversant with codes of practice and standards.
- Effect studies to determine cause, effect, and corrective actions required to remedy deviations impairing desired standards.
Skills and Qualifications:

- Extensive knowledge in fire engineering design and the various Regulations / British Standards
- Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients’ toughest challenges.
- Active listener with superior interpersonal skills with clients and staff experience of collaboration in a diverse and inclusive team, working together toward technical excellence.
- Proven leadership, mentoring, communication and coaching skills
- Project management experience, particularly of major projects with demonstrated experience delivering quality results and exceeding client expectations.
- Chartered engineer with the institute of fire engineers
- Ensures policies, practices and procedures are understood and followed by direct reports, customers and stakeholders.
- Lead and manage their teams and the wider business in respect of Non-Project related budgets and tasks such as training, technical excellence, quality.
- High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
