We currently seeking a Director, Information Management and Analytics to lead a team of data and information management professionals to architect, design, implement and manage a new cutting-edge technology platform delivering complex data engineering and business intelligence solutions. The ideal candidate will provide information management and analytics leadership, strategic planning and delivery of Digital Transformation initiatives, will be experienced at delivering best-in-class solutions, have advanced development knowledge with Big Data and Microsoft Azure Data Lake while being a seasoned leader, self-driven, and detail focused. This is a fully remote position with 20% travel for meetings nationwide.

  • Information Management Strategy and Roadmap Develop and Manage to an Information Management Strategy and Roadmap, as well as the architecture that showcases our key strategies and actions the team is taking day-to-day and long term to support our business goals.
  • Defining Data & Analytics Strategy Identifies and standardizes the use and governance of data and analytics. This includes the governance of data and algorithms used for data and information analysis, analytics applications and decision making. Creates value by unlocking and sharing data and information in ways which will spur innovation and drive the performance of the business, measured by operational, marketing, financial and other key performance indicators.4
  • Establishing Data Governance Cascades from data strategy into data governance to promote data access, quality, and analytical capability. Governance can include a knowledge worker training program, a data stewardship model, data principles and data standards. Develops and maintains controls on data quality, interoperability, and sources to effectively manage risk associated with the use of data and analytics. Strives to reduce the cost of managing data and increase the value of the data and information for business use.
  • Identifying and Defining Data & Analytics Investments Works with business and IT leaders to identify areas of technical needs for future data management, information management, business intelligence and data science capabilities. Drives the development and deployment of the data and analytics platform. Identifies and prioritizes business projects and enterprise data initiatives utilizing data science capabilities.
  • Advising and Reporting Serves as the data and information analytics lead technical advisor. Represents the information management and analytics team and enterprise data stewards at leadership meetings and conferences. Develops and gives oral presentations on the power and value of data. Leads and/or serves on steering committees and helps leadership use its data and information effectively for achieving the strategic objectives of the business.
  • Facilitating Internal and External Collaboration Collaborates with internal and external industry data and information experts to enable a proactive approach to improving business insights derived from various data sources. Applies expert knowledge and mastery of advanced statistical/computer science methods, theories, and standards to analyze enterprise performance results and reports, relevant external publications, and industry benchmarks. Recommends and pursues collaboration and provides appropriate technical guidance to ensure the success of such collaborations. Interacts with business areas and IT professionals on data and analytics solutions.
  • Identifying Opportunities for New Data Products Lead strategy development for data and analytics products to ensure the program becomes pervasive throughout the organization and helps enable new revenue streams. To support these endeavors, collaborate with the C-Suite (CIO, CMO, CFO and COO and Organization Presidents) to ensure that digital products are released on time, on budget and with high quality. A champion for the information and related data and analytics capabilities.
  • Team Leadership lead and manage a team of data and information-focused resources, including data architects, data engineers, data analysts and business intelligence analysts.

In addition this leader and the team will be accountable to

  • Lead the creation of an Enterprise Reference Data Architecture for the company, along with the creation and implementation of processes to collect and maintain data and information assets across the enterprise.
  • Drive standardization and simplification across the enterprise, in collaboration with data governance activity, lowering cost, improving quality and value of data assets.
  • Lead the design and delivery of enterprise solutions for Data lake Warehouse, Master Data/Reference Data, Data Integration Strategy and requirements for data processing and use, including definitions, transformation, enrichment.
  • Lead the team in the design and implementation of technical artifacts; logical data models, physical data models, data lake structure and architecture, core data flows, and end user data access and use of data.
  • Drive Data-as-a-Service (DaaS) and monetizable Data-as-a-Product (DaaP) via DataLake Analytical Platform (DLAP) across all of the business areas in Sales, Marketing, Operations, Finance, HR etc.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Management Information Systems, Statistics, Analytics, Econometrics, or equivalent required; MBA/Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible relevant experience in data management, including creating partnerships, implementing data governance, and understanding the underlying technologies needed.
  • Experience in computer programming, query languages, and internet-based data visualization platforms such as Power BI and Domo.
  • Demonstrated experience with developing data strategy, enterprise data architecture policies, and procedures, as well as successfully executing programs that meet or exceed expectations in a dynamic environment; experience creating tools and capabilities to assist with data discovery & collaboration, ensure data quality, and to load, clean, enrich, manage, and share data and metadata from a variety of sources required.
  • Experience in understanding of cloud-based data lake architectures for data management, master data, data warehouse and supporting Analytics, BI dashboards. Experience with Microsoft Azure and Databricks, PowerBI environment with be a Plus.
  • Familiarity with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, HBase) and Extract Transform Load (ETL) tools required.
  • Deep understanding of data and analytics as it relates to business operations.
  • Effectively worked with senior leadership in setting strategic 6+ month direction.
  • Operated well in the unknown – experienced with rapid growth and constantly shifting challenges and priorities. We’re looking for someone who is able to adapt and shift strategy quickly and is able to manage the team well in the process.
  • Works well in cross-functional teams (engineering, product, design, operations).
  • Experience effectively managing through conflict resolution of senior technical resources, helping people see the forest for the trees and advancing collaboration of teams toward common goals and objectives.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Expertise in data governance, data quality metrics, data analytics, data categorization, data architecture, data lakes, digital platform strategy.
  • Ability to promote collaboration by unifying teams, setting common goals and incentivizing collaborative behavior.
  • Strong ability to build credibility, organize effectively, solve problems quickly, communicate clearly, and harmonize diverse and competing interests.
  • Ability to work with business stakeholders to communicate and showcase value in
  • Information Management initiatives.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity to focus on sprints of work to produce iterative states of maturity in the lifecycle of data to information to knowledge to wisdom.
  • Experience leading teams that have developed and implemented machine learning and artificial intelligence solutions.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in analytical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
