Compensation Range:

$88,084.93 – $139,899.08

Position Summary:

Oversees the Department of Information Management and Reporting. Directs the formalized process of data reporting to internal and external college stakeholders; Serves in an official capacity as College State Reporting Coordinator to the Florida Department of Education. Designs, builds and manages the college’s Business Intelligence system. Provides leadership in the implementation and administration of policy and procedures for data integrity, reporting, and certification.

Job Duties: 

  • Directs the design, implementation and maintenance of the college’s Business Intelligence software system, SAS Visual Analytics. Leads a technical team of individuals internal and external to the Department of Information Management & Reporting in creating reports and maintaining the system.
  • Creates and maintains complex computer programs using SAS programming and SQL querying language for the purposes of extracting and transforming data from the College’s information systems, analyzing data, or reporting data to internal or external college stakeholders.
  • Directs the centralized college Data Request Process by providing process vision and design, as well as daily supervision over requests. Coordinates the analysts in Strategic Planning & Analysis, Student Services, Human Resources and Finance in the ongoing success of the process.
  • Directs the college-wide Data Certification Process by coordinating stakeholders across the college to complete a verification of data in their respective areas.
  • Interprets external reporting requirements, state policies, state statutes, grant objectives and other documentation for the purposes of implementing policy, providing research support, or advising college stakeholders.
  • Identifies problems regarding college data integrity caused by data entry or technical issues with the college’s information systems. Often leads or assists in the implementation of the solution.
  • Completes reports and prepares submissions of data that support external compliance or college decision-making.
  • Supervises employees within the Department of Information Management and Reporting. Performs time entry approval and performance appraisals.
  • Conducts software testing and data validation and provides subject matter expertise when coordinating with the Office of Information Technology in matters of data warehouse creation and software implementation when those matters directly influence the Division of Strategic Planning and Analysis.
  • Serves as a standing member on key internal and external committees including the State Management Information Systems Advisory Task Force (MISATFOR), College Academic Affairs Technical Review Committee, and Academic Affairs Committee.
  • Serves as the College State Reporting Coordinator, a liaison between the Community College Technical Center Management Information Systems (CCTCMIS) department, a division of the Florida Department of Education, and various College departments for all state reporting communications and reporting requirements.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Master’s degree and five to seven years of prior-related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Advanced critical thinking skills. Experience as a subject matter expert in community college data. Doctoral degree in Educational Measurement, Statistics, or Data Science.
