The Green Climate Fund is the world’s largest dedicated multilateral climate fund and invests in impactful, innovative, catalytic programs and projects in developing countries across the globe. The GCF has a portfolio of 314 projects across 133 countries, with a total commitment of USD 18.0 billion to date.
In 2023, an additional USD 12.8 billion was pledged, to support our new strategic and programming cycle from 2024-2027; our ambition is to grow to become at least a USD 50 billion fund by 2030. Position Objective
The Director of Partnership and Resource Mobilization leads efforts to ensure the GCF’s financial sustainability, scalability, and centrality within the global architecture of climate finance. By strengthening relationships with a wide range of stakeholders as well as coordinating GCF engagement in multilateral processes/events, the Director leads strategic efforts to:
The position holds dual reporting lines to the Executive Director (ED) and Chief Strategy and Impact Officer (CSIO). The Director is accountable to the ED for performance goals advancing the Fund’s overarching resource mobilization agenda. Under the CSIO, the Director is responsible for the day-to-day management and operational delivery of GCF’s partnership and resource mobilization activities. This is a high-profile, externally-oriented position requiring substantial leadership and engagement with contributors and other international stakeholders.
In addition to leading departmental operations, the Director provides strategic guidance to the Executive Director and Chief Strategy and Impact Officer on high-impact initiatives, ensuring alignment with the Fund’s long-term vision. The Director also drives cross-functional collaboration and may represent the Fund in selected external engagements, reinforcing coherence and excellence in delivery.
