Introduction to Henan Medical College

Zhengzhou University’s medical education dated back to 1928, originating  from Henan Sun Yat-sen University, marking the beginning of higher medical education in Henan. In 1952, Henan Medical College was established as an independent institution. It was renamed Henan Medical University in 1984 and merged into the new Zhengzhou University in 2000. In 2018, Zhengzhou University Medical College was established, and in 2022, it was officially renamed Henan Medical College of Zhengzhou University .

Henan Medical College of Zhengzhou University offers 13 academic programs , including Basic Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Preventive Medicine, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Preparation, Pediatrics, Stomatology, Nursing, Medical Laboratory Technology, Medical Imaging, Anesthesiology, Rehabilitation Therapy, and Medical Imaging Technology. Among these, Clinical Medicine is a national first-class major, with its ESI ranking entering the top 0.52‰ globally. The college currently has 6 first-level doctoral programs in Basic Medicine, Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Pharmacy, and Stomatology， as well as a professional doctoral degree authorization point in Clinical Medicine, 8 first-level master’s degree authorization points, 5 professional master’s degree authorization points, and 5 postdoctoral research stations. With 13 affiliated hospitals, 54 national key clinical specialties, and 290 provincial key (cultivation) medical disciplines, the college has over 40,000 open beds and an annual outpatient volume exceeding 25 million visits. It has been approved as the construction unit for 7 national regional medical centers, gathering the main high-quality medical resources in Henan and playing a significant role in treating difficult and severe cases and responding to major public health emergencies.

Recruitment Positions and Support Policies

(I) Distinguished Professors

Positions include Chief Discipline Professor, Discipline Leader, Discipline Backbone, and Outstanding Talent.

General Requirements:

1. No Criminal Record;
2. Good health and the ability to engage in teaching and research;
3. High-level talents such as professors, associate professors, assistant professors      from domestic and foreign universities, and other high-level talents with equivalent academic qualifications are eligible to apply;
4. Outstanding post-doctoral researchers can apply for Outstanding Talent positions through a green channel.

Support Policies:

1. Internationally competitive salary and benefits, sufficient research start-up funds, and platform construction funds;
2. Assistance in building excellent research teams and establishing internationally aligned career development platforms;
3. Relocation allowance and access to university apartments;
4. Assistance with children’s education; qualified distinguished professors may also arrange employment for their spouses;
5. Candidates who are successfully selected into national-level talent programs through the university will be eligible for: National funding support; Matching grants from Henan Province (at a 1:1 ratio to the national funding amount); Additional financial support from the university.

Discipline Backbone Support Policies

1. National institutional position, professor title;
2. Annual salary of 500,000–700,000 RMB;
3. Social security and housing provident fund paid by the university, approximately 100,000 RMB/year;
4. Sufficient start-up and platform construction funds (up to 16 million RMB, including national and provincial matching funds);
5. Relocation allowance of not less than 1-2.5 million RMB (including national and provincial matching funds), with access to university apartments;
6. Additional doctoral student enrollment quotas of no fewer than three for “high-end, precise, cutting-edge, and urgently needed” talents;
7. Assistance in building research teams without being restricted by secondary unit recruitment quotas;
8. Support for unlimited postdoctoral recruitment, with basic personnel funds fully covered by the university.

Outstanding Talent Support Policies

1. National institutional position;
2. Annual salary of 400,000 RMB+;
3. Social security and housing provident fund paid by the university, approximately 60,000 RMB/year;
4. Competitive research start-up package;
5. Relocation allowance of 500,000 RMB (pre-tax);
6. Priority recommendation for national and Henan provincial talent programs.

(II) Young Faculty

Positions include Initial Appointment Professor, Initial Appointment Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor.

General Requirements:

1. No Criminal Record;
2. Age should generally be under 35;
3. Good educational background and systematic scientific research training;
4. Doctoral graduates and post-docs within the job-seeking period;
5. Ability to engage in scientific research work；
6. Applicants must meet corresponding performance criteria for the position.

Initial Appointment Professor Support Policies:

1. National institutional position;
2. Annual salary of 350,000 RMB (pre-tax);
3. Relocation allowance of 300,000 RMB (pre-tax);
4. Social security and housing provident fund paid by the university, approximately 60,000 RMB/year;
5. Competitive research start-up package.

Initial Appointment Associate Professor Support Policies:

1. National institutional position;
2. Annual salary of 250,000 RMB (pre-tax);
3. Relocation allowance of 200,000 RMB (pre-tax);
4. Social security and housing provident fund paid by the university, approximately 60,000 RMB/year;
5. Competitive research start-up package.

Assistant Professor Support Policies:

1. National institutional position;
2. Annual salary of 180,000 RMB (pre-tax);
3. Relocation allowance of 120,000 RMB (pre-tax);
4. Social security and housing provident fund paid by the university, approximately 60,000 RMB/year;
5. Competitive research start-up package.

(III) Postdoctoral Researchers

Position Requirements:

1. No Criminal Record;
2. Age should generally be under 32;
3. Good educational background and systematic scientific research training;
4. Doctoral graduates within the job-seeking period;
5. Good health and the ability to engage in teaching and research;
6. Meet the specific business conditions and requirements proposed by the cooperative supervisor and research team.

Support Policies:

1. Salary structure: Base Salary + Research incentives + Henan Province grants;
2. Professional technical level 9 salary;
3. Research performance divided into three levels: Level I (pre-tax 200,000 RMB/year), Level II (pre-tax 100,000 RMB/year), Level III (pre-tax 60,000 RMB/year).
4. National “Bo Xin” Program A (280,000 RMB), B (180,000 RMB), C (120,000 RMB); Central Plains Youth Bo Xin Innovation Talent (200,000 RMB/year);
5. Competitive research start-up package;
6. Cooperative supervisors and secondary employers may provide additional performance bonuses based on workload, which can be stacked with university benefits;
