Position Summary: 

Responsible for assisting clients with completing immigration forms completely and accurately as it relates to citizenship, adjustment of status, employment authorization, parole documents, change of address, travel documents, following up with clients, scheduling appointments through Info Pass, and translation of documents. 

Essential Responsibilities:

• In coordination with the Migration and Refugee Services (MRS) and Immigration Services, interview the client, review client documents and ascertain immigration needs.
• Complete applications for client relating to citizenship, adjustment of status, employment authorization, family reunification, change of address and/or travel documents.
• Educate clients on the need to renew employment authorization and apply for permanent residence or citizenship when eligible.
• Maintain and monitor record of case and action plan as well as track statistical information.
• Complete all required documentation accurately, on time and using proper English.
• Refer all clients with social, medical and mental health needs to appropriate MRS Case Manager.
• Review changes in immigration laws and regulations as well as case consultations.
• Provide statistical information needed for semi-annual and annual reports in a timely manner.
• Adhere to agency and program standards of conduct, required levels of professionalism and all policies and procedure.
• Protect all confidential information, company property and electronic data. Comply with safety rules.
• Other related duties as directed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is required due to clientele.
• Knowledge of the refugee resettlement and immigration system.
• Must be a self-starter with strong organizational skill and attention to detail.
• High degree of communication skills both oral and written.
• Knowledge of local service providers.
• Excellent clerical skills.
• Ability to work with people of different cultures and languages.
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Qualifications:

• Associate Degree plus two years’ experience in immigration work.
• Flexible schedule to work after hours and weekends, as necessary.

Physical Requirements

• Primarily works in office environment, but sometimes work throughout the office.
• Ability to communicate with clients, colleagues and immigration network.
• Ability to operate and use office equipment, especially computer, keyboard and mouse.
• Ability to continuously sit and/or stand. Ability to climb stairs as needed.
• May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.

This position pays $20.00 per hour.
