1. Background

Habitat for Humanity Kenya (HFHK) is implementing a project in Ndhiwa, Homabay County, utilizing Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) and Earth Enable construction technologies to enhance affordable and sustainable housing solutions. This documentary will capture the construction processes, community impact, and the transformative effect of the project on housing in the region.

2. Objectives of the Assignment

Habitat for Humanity Kenya (HFHK) is seeking a skilled consultant based in Homabay to capture the process and impact of building technologies. The goal is to create a compelling narrative through a documentary, photographs, and social media content that captures construction processes, community impact, and the transformative effect of the project on housing in the region.

Document the progress of Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) and Earth Enable construction in Ndhiwa:

  • Capture key milestones, including the intensification of construction from February to March 2025.
  • Highlight the experiences of beneficiaries and stakeholders.
  • Showcase the innovative construction technologies used.
  • Provide a compelling visual narrative for advocacy, fundraising, and awareness.

3. Scope of Work

The selected videography consultant will be responsible for:

  • Pre-production planning, including script development and scheduling.
  • On-site filming at various stages of construction.
  • Conducting interviews with key stakeholders (HFHK representatives, beneficiaries, local government officials, and construction teams).
  • Capturing high-quality footage of construction techniques and site progress.
  • Editing and producing a professional documentary (10–15 minutes in length) with 3-5 shorter versions for social media use.
  • Providing raw footage, high-resolution photos, and project clips for future use.
  • Write a success story article for media publication.

4. Deliverables

  • A fully edited 10–15 minute documentary.
  • A three to four – 2-minute highlight version for social media.
  • 50+ high-resolution images capturing construction progress and community engagement.

3. Monitoring and Evaluation

  • Progress check-ins with HFHK’s programs and communications team.
  • Review and approval process before final release.
  • Post-production feedback and revisions as necessary.
