This dynamic role involves working with all drafting fields, civil/structural, piping, mechanical, but mostly electrical in support of construction & record drawing projects at the Niagara Power Project.
Under direct supervision prepares drawings, plans, and layouts, with all required details, from data originally prepared by others. Works from oral or written instructions, marked prints, sketches, and standard references, to produce a complete drawing with a minimum of assistance from others. Assists in taking and recording field measurements and data. Performs other duties such as preparation of bills-of-material, compilation of data and filing. Works with others of higher classifications, and may assist and check the work of others in this and lower classification.
Must have mechanical and electrical aptitude as well as demonstrated drafting proficiency.
One year’s satisfactory experience as Drafter “A” or equivalent. Ability to perform routine calculations using standard handbook formula. Must be familiar with, and capable of using, catalogs and reference books containing engineering data and instructions.
Required minimum AAS in Engineering Design & Drafting Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology. Four year degree preferred.
Must be able to perform field inspections which includes but is not limited to traversing corridors, stairs, (indoor and outdoor) in various types of weather..

Hourly rates for union-represented employees are collectively bargained by the New York Power Authority and IBEW. The negotiated pay rate for this position is $38.63 per hour.
