Qualifications

1. 1+ year’s experience in a direct care position preferred.
2. Prior experience in working with veterans is preferred.
3. Proficient in Microsoft software (i.e. Word, Excel, Power point, and Outlook.)
4. Valid DL is required

We are seeking a Driver to join our team at our program in Philadelphia, PA

Program Details

Fresh Start transitional housing programs were developed to provide 24/7 support to Veterans and individuals with a history of homelessness, chemical dependency, and/or varying degrees of behavioral health issues. Fresh Start currently has over 150 beds that operate out of 13 different locations in Philadelphia and Coatesville, PA. These programs work in partnership with the Philadelphia VA Medical Centers and Philadelphia’s Office of Addiction Services (OAS). In addition, Fresh Start also has “self-pay” housing options where individuals can stay for an indefinite period of time.

Position Details

This position is responsible for providing safe and reliable transportation for adult male and female Veterans residing in our transitional housing program. Primary destinations include the Philadelphia VA Medical Center, the Veterans Multi-Service Center (VMC), and other scheduled medical, treatment, employment, and community-based appointments.

In addition to transportation duties, the Driver plays an active role within the residential program environment. When not transporting residents, this position provides support within the facility, assisting staff and engaging with Veterans in a respectful and professional manner. Our program serves Veterans experiencing homelessness, substance use disorders, co-occurring disorders, and serious mental illness. The Driver helps ensure residents arrive at and return from appointments safely and on time, supporting their access to critical services and overall stability.

Earn $17.75 an hr
