Executive Assistant to the Head of School and Director of School Operations in the School of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health

We wish to recruit an individual to provide proactive confidential, high level Executive Assistant, administrative and project support to the Vice Dean and Head of School (HoS) and Director of School Operations (DoSO), which includes acting as the primary point of contact for the school Office. They will additionally provide administrative support to the School Operations Manager more widely, as required.

The post holder will ensure that the critical functions performed by the School Office are discharged efficiently and effectively. This will include proactively managing the School calendar of committees and events, reviewing and refining business processes, coordinating requests for the Head of School office and providing support for key staff including the School Leadership Team. The EA will act as an office manager – managing and supervising two School Office Administrators and allocating work, designing and improving processes and systems and undertaking projects. The post holder will organise and service the monthly Senior Leadership Team and Senior Operations Executive Committees, and other School level committees when required.

This is a dynamic and demanding role and will involve considerable flexibility and the ability to prioritise tasks in order to deliver consistently high standards of administrative support; ensure effective and professional liaison with academic, administrative and external customers at all levels, to facilitate the smooth running of day-to-day activities within the School.

You will have excellent organisational and time management skills to manage your own workload, working flexibly and on your own initiative. You will be a team player with the ability to build networks both within the School and across the wider University. Excellent IT skills are essential.
