Join Birkbeck, University of London, as an Electron Microscopy Facility Specialist and External Research Coordinator.Our institution is renowned for its cutting-edge research and collaborative environment, and we are looking for a dedicated cryo-electron microscopist professional to help run our state-of-the-art ISMB Electron Microscopy Facility.As an Electron Microscopy Facility High Resolution Specialist and External Research Coordinator, you will:

• Oversee the daily operations of the ISMB Electron Microscopy Facility, ensuring high-resolution data collection and efficient sample preparation.
• Develop and support high-resolution imaging research projects, including both internal and external collaborations.
• Support the research of the ISMB Facility user community and you’ll be able to develop your own research projects
• Develop and support research projects from external Facility users, and coordinate use of and reporting to the National EM Centre at the Diamond Synchrotron.
• Work with Integrative Imaging and Training Coordinator, and with EM Research Computing computing colleagues to manage data systems and outputs.
• Supervise early career researchers and PhD students using the facility.

We are looking for an Electron Microscopy Facility High Resolution Specialist and External Research Coordinator who has:

• Extensive knowledge of EM high-resolution imaging experiments.
• Practical experience in cryo-EM and tomography reconstruction workflows.
• Proficiency in preparing diverse EM samples and data analysis.
• Strong computational skills with EM and high-resolution data hardware and software systems.
