Duties, Responsibilities & Other
A successful candidate for this position will have experience and an existing network of clients in the renewable energy engineering and construction market including utility, community and industrial clients. This position will be focused on positioning the firm to increase revenue in the area of engineering of renewable energy and utility electrical systems throughout the United States. The roles and responsibilities of this position include:
- Be an active member and interface regularly with Business Developers, Market Executives and Regional Directors, marketing coordinators and graphics team and technical staff to plan and execute business development strategies, initiatives and pursuits.
- Develop, nurture and utilize personal and professional networks, contacts to connect KCI Energy to revenue generating project opportunities.
- Participate in strategic planning sessions and develop client capture strategies and identify opportunities to position firm for new clients and services.
- Identify marketing opportunities (top projects, needed events, speaking engagements) and develop strategies, including social media, presentations, conference support and strategy, visualizations, event management, and content development to position KCI for success.
- Take a leadership role in the development of marketing plans to support contract pursuits.
- Identify and qualify opportunities to pursue that align with the market, sector or corporate business plan.
- Lead the effort of developing/maintaining a list of perspective pursuits and client relationship development.
- Analyze, research, and strategize across clients and markets to generate a market entry, or client/project capture plan
- Research client, market, and pursuit data (using internal and external resources) as required to support capture planning efforts.
- Update CRM with pertinent information, developing leads and contacts curated during business development activities and research.
- Lead the team in determining strategy/win themes to position KCI for success.
- Advance business development and pursuit management efforts through industry and client involvement including attendance at conferences, industry events, client/teaming partner meetings, technical team meetings, and other external events as necessary/requested.
- Interview new and existing staff for legacy and KCI project description information to address upcoming pursuit needs.
- Collaborate and support business processes and procedures towards an integrated approach across KCI’s business sectors.
- Support and participate in client business development relationships and activities.
- Lead the execution of strategies, significant proposals, and interviews.
- Work with technical staff to develop/refresh presentations, collateral and other marketing materials.
- Utilize KCI’s CRM for lead capture and information tracking. Update/maintain marketing database with written project and resume data as generated/received.
- Champion annual and long-term strategic business plan initiatives including providing input to Market Executives, Chief Strategy Officer and Discipline Directors during the planning process as well as serving in an active role for executing planned initiatives.
- Assist in the development of reporting strategies to track progress against goals and ROI on marketing efforts.
- Comply with KCI’s Quality Management System standards.
- Other duties as assigned
- 20+ years of experience is preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree wtih an understanding of Engineering or the technical field or equivalent experience required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 9 years of experience.
- Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
