If you share a passion for performance, value a collegial and collaborative culture, and approach everything with the highest integrity, here’s an opportunity for you to invest your career at CPP Investments.Job DescriptionAs an Engineer in Real Asset Technology, you will be responsible for building and supporting end-to-end technology solutions to assist with all aspects of the investment lifecycle for the Real Asset business group and Investment Operations group supporting private investments.Reporting to the Director of Real Asset Technology, in partnership with peer Technology & Data team and a variety of business departments, this role will have a unique opportunity to work as part of a multi-year initiative transforming our technology landscape in the Alternative Investment space to support CPP Investments’ 2025 Technology and Data Strategy. You will see the unique engineering challenges and how your software is impacting the investment activities and delivering long-term value to the CPP Fund for the benefit of 20 million CPP contributors and beneficiaries.The opportunity:

• Work in partnership with CPP Investments’ professionals to build software solutions enabling end-to-end investment lifecycle support including portfolio management, investment due diligence and analysis activities, deal tracking and execution, reporting and ongoing investment operations activities.
• Gain exposure to investment lifecycle for direct and in-direct private equity investments.
• Be a part of CPP Investments’ Digital Transformation, gaining hands-on experience with AWS technologies, employing DevOps and leveraging patterns and best practices defined to deliver scalable, maintainable, and flexible solutions.
• Assist with software solution architecture, manage timelines/deliverables, and work closely with other developers on enhancement projects.
• Promote Agile best practices through active team participation, knowledge sharing sessions, and maintenance of documentation on team wiki.
• Provide responsive business assistance while adhering to processes required for quality enterprise-level software development and support.
• Work closely with product owner and team to contribute to multi-year initiatives.
• Proactively find improvement opportunities to streamline business processes, automate manual processes where appropriate.
• Other duties as assigned.

QualificationsIf you possess the following, we’d like to hear from you:

• University degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
• 1-2 years of practical experience with Python or Java, SQL, and a passion to keep up to date in technology.
• Frontend dev experience in Angular or React is a plus but not mandatory.
• DevOps experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Experience working and developing cloud-native solutions on AWS is an asset.
• Experience working using an Agile framework (e.g. scrum) is an asset.
• Involvement in resolving production issues in fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of software development best practices and patterns.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking, and relationship management skills.
• Willingness to wear different hats as needs change is a must (e.g. switching among frontend dev, devops dev, java dev, python dev, acting as scrum master, BA work, etc.) – resources available for you to learn and acquire any new skills as needed.
