Come build the future with us and apply directly to your dream job!POSITION SUMMARY:We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Engineer with expertise in Software & Controls to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the design, development, and delivery of control architectures and software for our innovative products and systems. Working alongside a team of talented professionals in a collaborative and innovative environment.   • Undertake the design, development, verification and on-time delivery of control architectures and software for new and existing products and systems throughout product and application lifecycles.
  • Contribute towards the innovative development of architectures, distributed control systems and software, including supporting systems and diagnostic tools.
  • Adhere to software management, development and revision control processes to ensure traceability and controlled access to vehicle software applications and documentation throughout Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
  • Undertake end-to-end model-based software development through a v-model approach, for assigned projects or changes from concept through to engineering sign-off and release, with verification through simulation, Hardware-In-Loop rig and vehicle-level integration tests.
  • Interface directly with internal and external customers on technical issues and requirements capture. Ensuring high customer satisfaction through safe, reliable and well supported implementations.
  • Generate designs, technical documentation and drawings to the relevant quality and safety standards, to support the whole product lifecycle.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant internal and international standards, best practice and legislation.
  • Maintain intuitive diagnostics and telematics systems to provide enhanced service and operational capabilities to support the latest designs.
  • Work with internal and external partners or suppliers to achieve quality, cost and delivery targets for each project or engineering change.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Due to the technical nature of the role, you will be educated to degree level in relevant discipline (or equivalent experience) along with experience in a similar role as defined in this advert.
  • Ideally your work experience will be gained in the automotive industry and in particular; bus, coach, HGV, specialist vehicles or tier-1 suppliers where you will have built a basic understanding of vehicle electrical systems and controls.
  • We would also welcome those from mobile plant, rail and rolling stock, aerospace, marine, or other similarly complex manufacturing and engineering companies.
  • You will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support colleagues on multiple simultaneous projects.
  • You should have knowledge of communication protocols and tools, e.g. CAN, LIN, IP
  • Experience of model-based software development in Simulink/Stateflow.
  • Ability to work in a structured engineering process-oriented environment, with experience of software quality and management processes.
  • Desirable:
  • Experience of Vector, dSPACE, Polarion and Teamcenter tools or similar.
  • Experience of maintaining effective requirements management.
  • Experience in the use of HIL rigs and test automation – Speedgoat or similar.
  • Familiarity with ISO26262 or equivalent functional safety standards.
  • Experience of powertrain and high voltage control systems.
