EHS Specialist
Location: Grant County
Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 (DOE)
We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist responsible for implementing and managing EHS programs in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies. This role is essential in maintaining a safe work environment, managing environmental water resources, and promoting best practices within the production department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and enforce safety policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Provide daily guidance on EHS programs at the employee/supervisor level.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks, develop action plans, and ensure compliance.
- Oversee environmental compliance, including water usage, wastewater management, and discharge regulations.
- Coordinate inspections and maintain logs for regulatory and environmental requirements.
- Conduct safety training, audits, and field inspections.
- Assist in emergency preparedness and regulatory compliance.
Ideal Candidate:
- 2+ years of EHS experience (preferably in food processing).
- Knowledge of relevant safety, environmental, and water resource regulations.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety & health or related field preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs occasionally.
- Work environment includes both office and plant settings.
