The successful candidate will work as a member of high-performing teams on a variety of natural resource assessments to support development of public and private infrastructure projects throughout Alaska. Primary responsibilities will include preparing documents relevant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, the Marine Mammal Protection Act, and permit compliance. The successful candidate will collaborate with project team members to write a variety of technical reports, developing federal, state, and local environmental permit applications, and support project managers by developing and managing task-level budgets and schedules. Critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, excellent writing skills, working well with others, and a willingness to learn are essential for this position. Technical writing experience is required. A demonstrated commitment to safety and quality is required.

Additional duties may include field studies such as wetland delineations, marine mammal monitoring, wildlife surveys, and other field activities in urban and remote settings. Work will be conducted independently as well as in teams, with appropriate senior technical oversight as needed. This is a full-time regular position based in our Anchorage, Alaska office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in environmental science, biology, geology, marine or wildlife science, or a related field
  • Experience in scientific field data collection and QC review such as plant identification, marine mammal monitoring, soil profile description, water quality sampling, etc.
  • Experience with ArcGIS and/or ArcPro

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences or closely related field
  • Knowledge of wetland delineation, field investigation techniques, and agency coordination requirements
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • MS Office experience
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
