Environmental Technician

SCS is looking for a full-time environmental technician for our Omaha, Nebraska office. Environmental technicians work with scientists and engineers on a variety of municipal solid waste landfill, groundwater well monitoring, and chemical/petroleum spill projects.

Groundwater monitoring
• Landfill gas monitoring
• Landfill cap and liner construction quality assurance (CQA)
• Vapor monitoring
• Field note preparation
• Emergency Spill Response

• Associate degree in an environmental, civil, or construction related field preferred
• 1+ years of related experience preferred but not required
• Completion or willingness to complete a 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training required
• Solid technical, mechanical, and computer skills required. Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel required
• Ability to perform fieldwork including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for long periods of time required
• Valid driver’s license with a driving record in good standing required
• Willingness to assist with emergency spill response during regular, evening, and weekend hours required
• Ability to travel overnight for work outside of the Omaha metro, extended out of town fieldwork is required

USD $23.00 – USD $26.00 /Hr.
