Estimator – San Antonio/ Austin, TX

Bartlett Cocke General Contractors is seeking an entry level Estimator to join our team in San Antonio and Austin, TX!  The Estimator will provide and/or coordinate complete and accurate estimates on various size projects and all types of contracts.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:

• Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-proposal meetings, etc., to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
• Prepare estimate by calculating complete takeoff of scope of work
• Acquire understanding of the requirements of the project/program at hand
• Analyze data and produce forecasts
• Perform risk analysis
• Assist Project Team in evaluating submitted proposals during project buyout and contracting phase

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Science, Engineering, Architecture, or any applicable degree program
• Valid Texas driver’s license and meet company’s auto insurability requirements.
• Entry level to 3 years of commercial construction bidding experience
• Experience with direct estimating, bid docs, proposals, as well as interacting with subs, owners & design teams preferred
• Ability to read, analyze & interpret blueprints
• Great attention to detail
• Experience with: Building Connected, On-Center, Cost OS, & MS Office
• Excellent communication skills needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or other qualification will be a plus
