Position description
The EOC EU Office is looking to fill the following position as of 1 October 2024: EU FUNDING OFFICER.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The selected candidate will work under the supervision of the Director of the EOC EU Office and will closely cooperate with the Head of Funding and other staff members.
Main tasks include:
- Writing project applications for the EOC EU Office and its stakeholders;
- Implementing EU projects of the EOC EU Office;
- Advising partner organisations on EU projects at the application and implementation stage;
- Contributing to training seminars and other educational activities aiming to raise awareness, inform, and train partner organisations on EU funding opportunities for sport;
- Organising regular exchanges with partner organisations of the EOC EU Office to provide tailored information on EU funding opportunities and encourage peer-to-peer cooperation;
- Creating regular communication and positive cooperation with key stakeholders, including partners, European National Olympic Committees, and EU institutions.
Qualifications
Formal education:
- University degree in sports, international relations, economics, politics, and/or other related fields;
- Professional qualifications in project management and/or other relevant fields are an asset.
Professional experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Demonstrated track record in writing EU funding applications, especially for sport;
- Demonstrated track record in coordinating EU projects;
- Demonstrated track record in coordinating multiple stakeholders;
- Proven experience in handling financial responsibilities related to EU projects.
Assets:
- Experience in acquiring private funding for projects in sport;
- Professional experience in a member-based organisation, preferably in sports;
- Professional and/or volunteer experience from organised sports sector.
Required:
- Full professional working proficiency in English;
- Very good technical knowledge of writing EU grant applications;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Ability to manage EU projects and budgets;
- Superior presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written;
- Good knowledge of EU institutions and EU funding opportunities for sport;
- Strong ability to coordinate and liaise with multiple stakeholders;
- ICT skills, particularly in Microsoft Teams and Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint), Google Drive, Zoom.
Assets:
- Good command of other European languages;
- Proficiency in acquiring private funding for projects related to sport;
- Familiarity with social media management and content creation tools;
- ICT skills in creative software’s such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Mailchimp, Brevo.
