Job Title: Housekeeper

Job Description

As a housekeeper, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness in non-occupied patient rooms. This role involves deep cleaning tasks that typically take 20-30 minutes per room. You will be expected to make the bed, flip the mattress, and thoroughly clean and disinfect the entire room. Part of your duties includes placing linens in a large, heavy bag to be disposed of properly. Additionally, you will be tasked with cleaning Isolation rooms, which requires adhering to strict safety measures and thorough cleaning protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform deep cleaning of non-occupied patient rooms, including bed-making and mattress flipping.
• Disinfect and sanitize entire rooms effectively.
• Manage linen disposal by placing them into heavy bags and disposing of them correctly.
• Clean Isolation rooms, following stringent safety measures and utilizing a string mop.
• Interact professionally with patients, nurses, doctors, and the housekeeping team.

Essential Skills

• Custodial, janitorial, and housekeeping skills.
• Previous hospital or hotel cleaning experience of at least 6 months.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.

• Ability to work independently as a self-starter.
• Team-oriented mentality.

Work Environment

This position is in a hospital setting where you will often work independently. It’s important to be aware of your surroundings and maintain a customer service-oriented mindset. Tattoos must be covered, facial piercings are not allowed, and heavy fragrances should be avoided to maintain a professional atmosphere.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Round Rock, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.75 – $18.50/hr.
