Extrusion Operator – Homer, NY

Overview

Starting Pay: $20.89/hour

Available Shift: 12-Hour Nights & 12-Hour Days (2-2-3 schedule)

Shift Information: After the training period (3-4 weeks) on the 8-Hour Day Shift (M-F, 7 AM – 3:30 PM), this position will transition to the 12-Hour shift (7 PM – 7 AM)

Responsibilities

The Extrusion Operator is involved in all aspects of manufacturing monofilament. The Extrusion Operator follows a specified step progression program starting with the handling, inspection and packing of finished products and the disposal of scrap generated during a production run. They also provide machine monitoring within the scope of specified duties, 5S the work space, perform quality testing, basic maintenance, housekeeping, and troubleshooting. Operators progress to being involved in preparing machines for start-up, running machines, and shutting down machines. It is expected that Operators continue training and follow a specified step progression program until they are trained to operate multiple different production lines across the facility.
