Background and Context
The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is planning a Humanitarian Leadership Training aimed at enhancing the leadership skills and understanding of humanitarian preparedness and response among UNFPA Representatives and Deputy Representatives working in humanitarian settings. This program aligns with UNFPA’s Strategic Plan 2022 – 2025 and its three transformative results, aiming to equip leaders with essential knowledge and skills required in emergency responses. The program involves both online and in-person components, with the latter to be held in Geneva.
Objective
To engage a qualified facilitator, either an individual consultant or an entity (e.g., institute, academia), to organize and facilitate the Humanitarian Leadership Training. The facilitator will work closely with UNFPA to facilitate a comprehensive training that includes various interactive and immersive learning experiences.
Scope of Work
The facilitator (individual or entity) will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Facilitation of Sessions:
- Facilitate room discussions and interactive activities.
2. Time Management:
- Oversee the timing and flow of sessions to ensure the agenda is followed and objectives are met within the allocated timeframe.
3. Facilitation Responsibilities:
- Engage in pre-training preparation and coordination with UNFPA staff.
- Guide the discussion throughout the sessions to ensure the expected outcomes of the Training Programme are met.
Deliverables
1. Training Materials:
- Any relevant training materials that are relevant to achieving the objective of the Training Programme.
3. Facilitation of Specific Training:
- Ensure the expected outcome is met through successful facilitation of all scheduled sessions and activities during the training program.
4. Final Training Report:
- A comprehensive report summarizing the training, feedback received, and lessons learned, including analysis and recommendations.
Duration and Location
In-Person Training: November 11 to 15, 2024, in Geneva, Switzerland.
Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in organizing and facilitating humanitarian leadership programs.
- Expertise in humanitarian themes, emergency preparedness, and response.
- Experience with psychometric assessments and leadership coaching.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Fluency in English is mandatory.
