Conveyor Belt Mechanic

The Conveyor Belt Mechanic is responsible for placing the upmost importance on working safely and always maintaining a safe & orderly work environment for self and others.

Responsibilities:

• Effectively maintain plant equipment, primarily related to manufacturing conveyor belt/system
• Learning to balance other distribution center equipment at the FreshDirect Campus
• Execute the plant preventive maintenance program
• Proficient with conveyor system machinery to support the maintenance team and/or train others as needed
• Strong working knowledge of all facets of electrical controls and procedures

Education and Qualifications

• 4-6 Years of experience as conveyor belt and/or system mechanic/technician required
• Technical education related to mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration is required
• Safely operates various shop related equipment
• Lay out and construct additional electrical circuits or deleted circuits. Update any changes to electrical schematics
• Diagnosis electrical problems using various meters and related equipment
• Mechanical experience with varied kitchen and distribution center machinery
• Read and understand electrical schematics and blueprints
• Working knowledge of three phase motors and control circuits
• OSHA safety certification is a PLUS
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• In a work day: standing/walking 8-12 hours
• Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling
• Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching
• Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
• Constant exposure to temperatures: <-10 degrees Fahrenheit (freezing), 32-40 degrees Fahrenheit (refrigerators)
• Ability to work in a wet and cold environment
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Schedule:

Monday to Sunday, with 24 hour coverage .

Note: The hourly wage is $40 an hour . Specific compensation for the role may vary based on many factors including but not limited to candidate experience, and skills.
