ABOUT THE ROLE
Lead operational and financial performance of Whitehall's alternative fuel platform located in Northampton, PA including safety, health, environmental policies as well as production and financial performance.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Lead an operation consisting of 6 employees that operate the PDF shredding equipment and heavy machinery, as well as maintenance contractors and suppliers.
- Primary point of contact within Holcim Whitehall Plant for GeoCycle.
- Function as part of the plant leadership team.
- Accountable for financial and operational performance of Northampton operation. Lead operation to achieve financial targets. Must be able to understand, report, and be able to explain drivers behind monthly financial performance. Provide input on budget for the facility.
- Oversee performance of internal functions and external. Build and maintain strong internal and external relationships and promote continuous performance.
- Directly responsible for facility operational expenditures and coordination of day-to-day activities.
- Implement and oversee documented preventive maintenance program for processing and mobile equipment. Focus on equipment reliability and failure prevention.
- Along with the plant leadership, plan major maintenance projects and develop capital investment recommendations for the facility. Directly manage capital investment projects.
- Lead site’s compliance culture with environmental, regulatory, and internal standards. Ensure standards are carefully maintained within permitted allowances and the adoption and effectiveness of emergency procedures for the facility
- Manage quality and cost of final product delivered to cement plant.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Required Education: Associate’s degree or 5 years of equivalent experience
Additional Education Preferred: Bachelor’s degree
Field of Study Preferred: Operations, Logistics, Transportation, Business, or other complementary field
Required Work Experience: 3-5 years’ operational experience in a production environment, Supervisory/managerial experience. Cement manufacturing or waste management experience is a plus.
Travel Requirements: Less than 10%
Required Computer and Software Skills: Knowledge of Windows, Excel, Word, Power Point, and SAP is preferred

- Strong decision making skills; ability to make sound decisions based on a thorough analysis of available data/information.
- Able to report P&L numbers and basic financial understanding.
- Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
- Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment (“PPE”), including but not limited to respirators. Subject to applicable law, employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
