Job Description

FAST Labs™ Hardware Engineering is seeking an Engineering Assistant V to join our creative team in Merrimack, NH. In this role, you will have opportunities to support development of hardware solutions and cutting edge technology for research and development programs across all of the FAST Labs product lines. One such area would be to support the build, assembly, fabrication, and test of multidiscipline designs using inhouse designed and COTS component with custom cabling, heat plates, and housings.

In this role you will

  • Work closely with engineers and scientists to build and test various assemblies for Research Projects.
  • Design, Build and Test custom cables and wiring.
  • Order and organize engineering and program material including kitting assemblies.
  • Asist Engineers in creating documentation including Bill of Materials, Mechanical Drawings, Assembly Drawings, Wire Diagrams and Test Procedures.
  • Work 100% of the time at a BAE facility for in person collaboration with other personnel.

Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Active Secret DoD clearance with ability to obtain Top Secret clearance
  • Associate’s degree with 2+ years of relevant work experience or High School Diploma with 4+ years of relevant work experience in an engineering field
  • Experience with build and test of custom cables
  • Ability to do Mechanical/electrical build and rework of printed circuit boards and sub-assemblies.
  • Strong “hands on” laboratory test experience with instrumentation, equipment, and processes such as Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, and Spectrum Analyzers.
  • Experience working with schematics and other engineering design documentation
  • Able to work efficiently with research engineers and scientists
  • Team Player: Able to function and contribute within a team environment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance
  • Experience working in an engineering development and test environment
  • Ability to track and report progress on assigned task
  • Solder Certified
  • Knowledge of Mechanical CAD tools such as Creo.
  • Past experience working on hardware for use in military systems
  • Prior DoD/Aerospace Assembly and Testing Experience.
  • Performing equipment verifications/calibrations following internal SOP’s and manufacturers protocols

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $72380 – $115830

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
