RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS
* Learn and understand the computer controls for the loadout system and operate daily during his/her shift.
* Coordinate feed deliveries in such a manner that meets the biosecurity needs of the farm, satisfies the sequential loading and manufacturing requirements of the Medicated Feed Protocol and maximizes the utilization of available trucks and drivers.
* Work effectively with the feed mill and its manufacturing process, learn feed-types, learn and implement bio-security procedures as well as other protective measures to prevent cross contamination of feeds.
* Provide timely and accurate feedback/communication on pertinent data and information to management on a routine basis.
* Monitor finished feed inventories in order to eliminate shortages, overages and other production and delivery bottlenecks.
* Schedule deliveries of feed realizing the most cost-efficient system of routing, as well as to utilize driver/truck turnaround times efficiently.
* Work effectively with computers and all standard programs available at the feed mill complex.
* Communicate feed delivery needs to feed manufacturing staff to ensure that adequate volume of feed by feed type is available for delivery.
Responsible for feed ordering and other miscellaneous duties.
REQUIREMENTS
* High School or GED preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
* Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
* Must be able to make decisions on routine matters utilizing company policies, procedures and directions from upper management.
* Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
SCHEDULE:
The hours and days of work are established by departmental needs and at the discretion of management. Occasionally, changes in the schedule will be required as special circumstances arise.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, risk of electrical shock and vibration.
