Field Service Technician

Job Overview

• Maintain and repair Komatsu underground equipment
• Timely, effective repairs of machine components in the Field

Key Job Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment for proper performance and determine faults and malfunctions.
• Troubleshooting and diagnosis; adjust equipment & repair/replace parts components or systems according to scopes of work.
• Tests repaired equipment to ensure proper operational performance.
• Commission new equipment.
• Provide customer training as required.
• Complete accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, etc.
• Stay current with industry, customer, product developments and technical best practices.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external customers to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure customer satisfaction within area of primary responsibility
• Work safely and follow all Komatsu/Customer safety policies and procedures.
• Complete related paperwork and access databases require to complete job accurately and timely.
• Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
• Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.

Qualifications/Requirements

* Associate Degree in Diesel Technology or equivalent.
* Minimum of 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work.
* Certified to operate a forklift and/or manlift
* May be required to complete a DOT physical
* Required to complete MSHA certification
* May be required to complete respirator certification
