Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Perform major mechanical engine repairs. The ability to overhaul an engine if needed.
- Perform transmission repairs up to and including rebuilds if necessary.
- Perform driveline repairs including undercarriage rebuilds.
- Strong understanding of various trucks and be able to make complicated repairs and modifications as needed.
- Strong understanding of complicated electrical and hydraulic systems and mastery of both electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Build and retrofit hydraulic systems for various equipment.
- Plan and complete major fabrication projects (water systems, structural, specifically designed field use equipment as needed). Strong skills in fabrication with the ability to think outside the box to make and design a product for field use without a template.
- Build and install electrical systems including emergency shutdowns and new controls on various equipment.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma, vocational training, certification from an accredited organization, or combination of schooling and minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in heavy equipment and/or automotive.
- Valid Driver’s License that meets requirements
- Valid CDL (type dependent on work location)
- Crane Inspector Certification as needed by location.
- At least 8 ASE Certifications in on-road or combination of other formal training.
Preferred Skills:
- Mastery of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems, great attention to detail, thoroughness required.
- Self-motivating and understanding of timeframes without being told. Be able to help others without being asked and give advice. Role model for the shop.
- Strong skills in mentoring and training with the ability to give constructive feedback.
- Leadership training is preferred. Ability to obtain and utilize is a must.
Additional Notes:
- Must have reliable transportation and show up to work on time every day. The ability to travel frequently and work varied hours includingovertime as needed.
