Duties, Responsibilities & Other

KCI Technologies is hiring a Telecom Field Technician. This person has the ability to work remotely but travel to job sites Virginia such as Farmville, Lynchburg, Roanoke, and Bedford County is a requirement for this position.

• 2-4 years of experience in field work involving telecommunications systems or other utility systems.
• Experience with NESC requirements is preferred
• Experience with OSP/ISP is preferred
• On the job training will be provided for all necessary skills needed to be successful in this position.
• The willingness and ability to learn how to operate field data collection tablets and tools and then record field gathered data.
• The aptitude to learn various hand-held technology for the interpretation of utility locations.
• Experience with AutoCAD is preferred but not required. Basic computer skills is required.
• Must be able to work outside in various weather conditions
• Travel is a requirement of this position. Overnight travel will be required as needed.
• Experience with Utility Pole Sticking is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 – 4 years of experience.
• Pre-employment drug screening is a condition of employment. Background and motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
