Job Title: Firmware Security Developer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Security Developer with extensive project experience in firmware and software architecture, design, and implementation, specifically for wireless applications and radio products. This role requires a proven track record of successful firmware code implementation for wireless applications, preferably for ORAN radio products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement firmware architecture for ORAN radio products.

  • Work closely with the security team to understand and implement security requirements.

  • Design and implement secure boot, firmware and software integrity, OTA updates, and hardware-backed device attestation technologies.

  • Work with security protocols, particularly in telecom environments, focusing on protocols like IEEE 802.1X, MACSec, and PKI-based authentication.

  • Engage in object-oriented design and development using C++ and embedded software development in C.

  • Develop and customize Linux kernel software, Embedded Linux, RTOS, U-Boot/kernel development, and Linux Device Tree.

  • Ensure compliance with O-RAN WG11 security specifications, including cryptography, key management, and secure access.

  • Collaborate with teams working on other components such as FPGA to ensure cohesive system integration.

Essential Skills

  • 8+ years of experience as a Firmware Developer.

  • Proficiency in Embedded C/C++ (60% C++ / 40% Embedded C).

  • Experience with Embedded System Security principles and techniques.

  • Familiarity with secure boot, firmware & software integrity, OTA updates, and hardware-backed device attestation technologies.

  • Experience with Linux kernel software, Embedded Linux, RTOS, U-Boot/kernel development, and Linux Device Tree.

  • Solid understanding of security protocols, particularly in telecom environments (IEEE 802.1X, MACSec, PKI-based authentication).

  • Familiarity with O-RAN WG11 security specifications, including cryptography, key management, and secure access.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with SoC devices, FPGA, and microcontrollers.

  • Knowledge of LTE, 5G, and wireless communication protocols.

  • Experience with Embedded Linux – Yocto and customization.

  • Proficiency in lower layer and application layer firmware development.

  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with security and development teams.
