We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist – Audience Data Product to join our Global Intelligence Products (GIP) organization and focus on building advanced segmentation and machine learning models for audience activation across owned & paid media channels. This crucial role will contribute to developing targeting models and rich customer segments effectively driving personalized ad experiences. The Senior Data Scientist will focus on building and optimizing models using 1P, 2P and 3P data to enable efficient audience activation and contribute to revenue growth.

In this position, you will design and develop audience segmentation and various lookalike models to optimize targeting across owned & paid channels, and work with cross-functional teams to collect, analyze, and optimize media exposure data for continuous media optimization and audience measurement. You will also collaborate closely with teams from marketing, digital, and technology to evolve the media data ecosystem, leveraging advanced tools such as cloud data warehouses (Snowflake), data cleanrooms, and customer data platforms (CDPs).

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience Required

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a similar quantitative discipline, with 4+ years of experience demonstrating progressive career growth and a history of exceptional performance in data science or analytics OR 2+ years of experience in data science or analytics with a Master’s degree

  • Proven experience in building and optimizing audience segmentation and lookalike models for targeted advertising using data science techniques, including clustering, classification, and predictive modeling.

  • Strong experience with writing AI/ML models in Python, Spark or SQL, and familiarity with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, AWS) for data processing and model deployment

  • Demonstrated ability to use data science methodologies (e.g., machine learning, statistical modeling) to analyze and optimize large-scale datasets for audience targeting.

  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, digital, and technology teams to align on broader data strategies and contribute insights to media optimization and performance measurement.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Primary Leadership Activities

  • Develop and implement segmentation and modeling strategies:

  • Audience Segmentation & Modeling: Collaborate with marketing and analytics teams to design and build segmentation models and lookalike models for optimized targeting across paid media channels.

  • Data Infrastructure: Work with the AdTech and IT teams to ensure effective integration and deployment of data infrastructure that supports segmentation and audience activation efforts.

  • Align segmentation models and tactics with the broader organizational data strategy to ensure consistency with long-term business goals and objectives.

  • Collaborate closely with marketing and analytics teams to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and data requirements for optimizing segmentation strategies, improving campaign targeting, and driving ROI.

  • Collaborate with technical teams and vendors (e.g., AWS, Snowflake) to build and enhance infrastructure that supports data-driven segmentation, model development, and performance measurement.

  • Identify and work on improving processes that enhance data quality and reduce manual interventions in segmentation model development and activation workflows.

  • Work with business leadership to support initiatives aimed at scaling data and model capabilities, contributing to future of Data Science and Media Analytics broadly.

Managing Responsibilities with Stakeholders

  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders across the organization. Foster a positive climate to build effective teams that are committed to organizational goals and initiatives.

  • Update stakeholders on key initiative wins and opportunities, responds to concerns, and solicits feedback. Engage leadership to develop and execute action plans to address gaps.

  • Assist direct reports with building and maintaining stakeholder relationships as business partnerships.

Managing Profitability

  • Analyze service issues and identifies trends.

  • Work with teams to develop an operational strategy that is aligned with the brand’s business strategy and leads its execution.

  • Review and audit expenses.

Managing Revenue Goals

  • Monitor performance against budget.

  • Review reports and financial statements to determine operations’ performance against budget.

  • Coach and support team to manage expenses and controllable expenses.

Managing and Conducting Human Resources Activities

  • Interview and hire employees.

  • Promote the fair and equitable treatment of employees.

  • Facilitate regular, ongoing communication in department (e.g., staff meetings).

  • Foster employee commitment to providing excellent service, participates in daily stand-up meetings and models desired service behaviors in all interactions with customer and employees.

  • Incorporate customer satisfaction as a component of staff/operations meetings with an emphasis on generating innovative ways to continually improve results.

  • Set goals and expectations for direct reports using the performance review process and holds staff accountable for performance goals.

  • Solicit employee feedback.

  • Utilize an “open door policy” and reviews employee satisfaction results to identify and address employee problems or concerns.

  • Promote adherence to policies consistently, follows disciplinary procedures and documents items according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and supports the Peer Review Process.

  • Conduct annual performance appraisal with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Champion change ensures brand and regional business initiatives are implemented and communicates follow-up actions to team as necessary.

  • Identify talents of direct reports and their teams and assists with their growth and development plans.

The pay range for this position is $52.06 to $82.45 per hour.
