FLEX Senior Manager, Hotel Content Strategy

This is a temporary position. 

The Senior Manager, Hotel Content Strategy will manage the day-to-day implementation and governance of Marriott’s hotel website content strategy. The Marriott Hotel Website (HWS) team leads design, development, and innovation across the portfolio of 9,000+ venue-based digital experiences, in over 150 countries and across over 30 highly recognized brands. Reporting to the Director, Hotel Content Strategy & Operations, this role will play a key role in driving the strategic content vision of Marriott’s digital hotel ecosystem. Core responsibilities of this role include developing content strategy plans and best practices, providing content and editorial guidance to hotels, field, and content operations teams, and updating and maintaining content strategy guidelines and documentation as the hotel product evolves.

CANDIDATE PROFILE 

Required Education and Experience 

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, related discipline, or equivalent experience/certification.
  • 5+ years’ experience in content marketing, content strategy, editorial, or digital marketing, or related function demonstrating progressive career growth and pattern of exceptional performance.
  • Previous experience developing content strategy or editorial guidelines for websites.
  • Experience with SEO and its impact on digital content strategy.
  • Experience developing insights and content plans from data using tools such as Adobe Analytics.
  • Possess exceptional written and oral communication skills, can develop clear, concise and logically written guidelines.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in support of specific business priorities.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly, think creatively, and satisfy Internet speed-to-market requirements.
  • Adaptable and energized by change; willingness to test new approaches and drive change.
  • Willingness to take on and lead special initiatives and cross-functional projects as needed.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience developing content strategies at scale for multi-site or multi-channel digital products.
  • Deep understanding of travel/hospitality trends and customer behavior.
  • Experience with Adobe Experience Manager.
  • Very strong follow-up, time management, business acumen, organizational and leadership skills.

Core Work Activities

  • Develop tactical content strategy & best practices for various hotel website themes, page types, and components.
  • Serve as day-to-day point of contact for content escalations and guidance for Narrative HWS operations team.
  • Provide content and editorial guidance to hotels via SNOW tickets, Narrative inbox, field escalations, webinars, and other communication channels.
  • Partner with UX team on the development and maintenance of content governance documentation.
  • Manage content strategy for special projects and pilots as needed.
  • Support communications & operations teams with conveying content best practices and guidelines via comms channels.
  • Support development & maintenance of content playbooks for various scenarios, including new hotels, renovated hotels, seasonal experiences, etc.
  • Partner with SEO team to integrate SEO best practices into hotel content strategy.
  • Partner with Digital Asset team to drive ongoing hotel website photography & video content strategy & documentation.
  • Analyze hotel content performance and provide strategic recommendations based on findings.
  • Ideate and identify opportunities for new editorial and content treatments for hotels, based on industry and competitive trends.
  • Conduct and manage content audits on Marriott and competitor hotel website products.
  • Support content strategy needs for digital brand pull-through as related to the hotel content ecosystem.
  • Liaise with UX, product, continent, brand, and enterprise content teams on driving hotel content strategy vision.

The pay range for this position is $52.06 to $85.58 per hour.
