Job Description: Forklift Operator

Position: Forklift Operator

Location: Tarter

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16-$17.00 per hour

Essential Functions:Including the following (other duties may be documented and assigned by management and some duties may not apply dependent upon the requirements of the position at each specific Tarter site and/or the strengths of the employee and the needs of the company):

• Consolidate material into locations.
• Receive material into the inventory system.
• Complete Inventory Transfers within the system.
• Clean and maintain work area.
• Support Production by moving Work-In-Progress (WIP), jigs, or finished goods.
• Provide line support by supplying materials or packaging to designated locations.
• Read load sheets.
• Support Production and Quality as necessary.
• Perform cycle counts of materials and/or finished goods as directed.
• Perform basic Quality Inspections.
• Pick up various products and bring them to the loading crew.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Effective interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are required.
• This position performs job duties in an ethical and professional manner.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required.
• Proficiency in using a tape measure and calipers.
• Previous forklift operating experience is required.
• Basic understanding of drawings and/or blueprints.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Working Conditions:

• Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
• Work involves frequent lifting of materials and products up to 50 pounds.
• Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment including, but not limited to, eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats.
