Your key responsibilities (EY PMO Lead):
Within FSO Business Consulting and our Business Transformation Delivery practice, you’ll work as part of a high-performing team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping financial services organisations solve their complex business opportunities and challenges from strategy to execution. As a Programme Manager you will:
- Be responsible for building valuable relationships with our clients and to develop a track-record of delivery that is recognised throughout the market.
- Deliver key strategic programmes for FS Consulting clients, ensuring service quality on one or more engagements at a time, leveraging your knowledge and sector experience to deliver Business, IT and Regulatory driven transformations.
- Manage the overall programme end to end within the scope, quality, time and budget terms of reference and in accordance with EY and client programme management standards.
- Work with the Programme Director and client programme leadership, business and technical leads, operational risk and internal audit teams.
- Own the delivery relationship with the client.
- Provide oversight and direction for the PMO Team, Workstream Leads and Project Managers.
- Be able to represent the programme at the necessary governance sessions and EY internal meetings (Account Level, Competency meetings etc.)
- Tailor and present key messages and updates to multiple stakeholders.
- Have a detailed understanding of the programme costs, forecasts and actuals and manage the programme master resource list.
- Ensure all the PMO process (inc. billing and invoicing) are carried out by the relevant PMO team members.
- Be responsible for regular status reporting, and governance forums of the programme (E.g. Steering Committees); tracking of key qualitative and quantitative metrics associated with programme delivery.
- Resolve / escalate programme level issues and risks and inter-programme dependencies.
- Draw on EY’s capabilities in our Business, Technology, People and Risk Consulting practices as well as experience from our global consulting network.
- Work with a global team of experts to develop unique and innovative solutions as well as benefitting from best-in-class training and development and bring the right insights and capability at the right time for our client engagements.
Your key responsibilities (EY Consulting Senior Manager Rank):
- Support EY FSO Business Consulting business development activities, such as proposals, thought leadership and producing input for client events.
- Support EY Business Consulting operations ensuring that all operational metrics are met for utilisation, timesheet and related internal engagement management processes and system inputs.
- Manage and coach our people. You will be assigned junior resources to help them navigate their career in EY, support them with their personal development and the necessary performance management processes (LEAD).
- Seamlessly work through ambiguous problems, defining client needs, approach to resolving complex engagements and recommending solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.
- Write sharp and concise documents at an suitable for C Suite client level with minor review for Partners and Directors
- Deliver presentations to C Suite client level and handle live feedback from clients.
- Seamlessly support other colleagues through presentations ad-hoc
- Own the management of difficult and challenging C Suite client stakeholders, to provide comfort and reassurance.
- Independently lead complex engagements from inception to completion ensuring coordination with client’s strategic objectives.
- Manage engagement revenue and billing associated with programme / project.
- Actively develop our people through mentoring colleagues to achieve their career goals and building high-performing, cross-sub-service line delivery teams.
- Shape solutions for complex, ambiguous problems by bringing the cross-service line and EMEIA capability of EY to the client.
- Act as a trusted advisor to C-suite and C-suite -1 by providing tailored insights that shape the client’s broader strategic agenda.
- Ensuring Service Quality best practices and standards are delivered on. Delivery of engagements to planned margin. Adhere to firm standards supporting effective engagement management (ETCs, billing, recovery.
- Bring Business Transformation thought leadership and practical experience of the implementation of emerging practices.
- Guide and mentor our delivery teams with practical experience of the implementation of Business Transformations.
- Create thought leadership pieces that build the reputation of our teams: including public blogs, interviews and speaking at industry conferences on Business Transformation topics.

To qualify for the role, you must have:
- 12+ years senior level experience in consulting and delivery of large-scale complex change programmes – especially within large Financial Services clients (Banking, Insurance)
- Experience in a matrix managed organisation.
- Primary degree.
- Experience in the establishment, training and managing teams comprised of both staff, contractor, and strategic partners.
- Strong financial background including experience of business case development and financial governance.
- Excellent communication skills – tailoring communications to suit a mix of audiences.
- Deep Functional expertise coupled with a relevant accreditation in their allocated programme/Domain e.g. Credit, Risk, Finance etc.
- A proven track record of delivering business value from Business Consulting as a senior Programme Manager
- Have a proven ability to be able to take a ‘big picture’ delivery and project management view as well as being able to work at a detailed level across a broad range of contract types and engagement approaches.
- Having a track record of delivery within a number of large-scale Business Transformation programmes, taking ownership of delivery across internal client teams.
- Have experience in seeking the alignment of business and IT, operating across organisational and technology silos to drive common approaches, delivering sustainable, agile and re-usable solutions.
- Accreditation and practitioner experience of a range of Project Management approaches including PRINCE II, Agile Frameworks & Methods (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, LeSS), PMI / PMP.
- Have a Programme and Project Management track record with a blue-chip consulting or systems integration firm or as a Delivery Lead within a leading Enterprise/Organisation
- Be comfortable working with client executives and senior management.
- Have worked in one or more of the following sectors: Banking, FMCG, Technology, Health etc.
Ideally, you will also have:
- Experience in one or more of the following specialisms: Digital Transformations, Agile Delivery Methods, Business Design, Regulatory Change.
- Project Management Certification and/or Agile certification desirable (e.g. PRINCE2, Scrum Master).
- Experience using project and portfolio management tools such as Clarity is preferable.
- Management Consulting experience is preferable.
