Job Purpose
The role involves providing comprehensive support for Food Security and Early Recovery projects, including planning, implementation, and evaluation to align with organizational goals. The assistant will collaborate with community organizations to enhance participation and facilitate social cohesion and resilience training. Responsibilities also include assessing capacity-building needs of community partners, managing data entry and documentation processes, ensuring data accuracy, and maintaining compliance with data integrity policies. Additionally, the assistant will respond to information requests and contribute to effective communication regarding data management challenges. The Projects Assistant will report to the FSL and ER Projects Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Project Support:

Assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of FSL and ER projects to ensure alignment with organizational goals.

Support project budget management and monitor work plans for effective resource allocation.

Help facilitate the timely execution of activities related to food security, livelihoods, and early recovery.
Community Engagement:

Collaborate with community-based organizations, youth groups, and local stakeholders to enhance community participation.

Assist in organizing training sessions on social cohesion and community resilience for team members and local stakeholders.
Capacity Building:
-
Support the assessment of capacity-building needs for Community-Based Organizations and assist in developing training programs.

Provide support and guidance to community partners to enhance their skills.
Strategic Development:

Collaborate with team members to integrate best practices in community resilience into project activities.
Data Management:

Prepare, compile, and sort documents for data entry.

Verify and correct data as necessary; obtain additional information for incomplete documents.
Data Entry:

Enter data from source documents into prescribed computer databases, fields, and forms.

Transcribe information into required electronic formats.

Scan documents into the document management system or database.
Quality Control:

Review completed work for accuracy and ensure compliance with data integrity and security policies.

Maintain records of activities and tasks in logbooks.
Support and Communication:

Respond to requests for information and provide access to relevant files.

Print information as needed and support timely information sharing regarding data management challenges.

Commitment to implementing policies by taking them into account when planning and designing activities, as well as when receiving complaints or noticing issues related to this matter, and fulfilling their obligation to report them directly through designated channels or directly to senior management. Raising awareness among designated staff about the child protection policy and the protection from sexual exploitation and abuse, as well as the reporting mechanisms and how to handle them.

Qualification (Education/Work Experience)
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Business, Agriculture, Economics, or a related field;
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in program management, with a focus on food security, livelihoods, and early recovery in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Good understanding of community resilience principles and methodologies.
- Familiarity with the local context and challenges faced by communities in Syria.
- Fluency in English and Arabic.
Desirable:
- Other relevant professional / management certifications would be an advantage.
- Entry level project management experience in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Previous team management experience, including training and capacity building.
