UNICEF has been present in Uruguay since 1992. Since then, it has provided technical cooperation and financial assistance to the Government and to the society in different areas to promote the rights of children and adolescents and generate opportunities for all of them to achieve the full development of their abilities. UNICEF work is based on a cooperation program that is agreed with the government every five years. A new cooperation program between UNICEF and Uruguay’s Government started in March 2021.

How can you make a difference?
Over the last years, Uruguay Country Office (UCO) has experienced a sustained growth in fundraising, which is mainly explained by the results obtained in the Individual Giving channel, in addition to a successful Partnership’s Engagement Strategy.
The Country Office has set ambitious goals in the Private Sector Plan (PSP) in terms of revenue growth, RR and OR allocation, along with a diversified marketing strategy that leads to an increase in the number of pledge donors. A strong management and leadership of a Fundraising Manager is required to successfully develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising and marketing strategy to sustain growth and ensure sustainability.
Under the supervision of the Uruguay Country Office Representative P-5, the Fundraising Manager NO-C will envision and guide the implementation of the resource mobilization strategy, emphasizing global core resources, and seize new opportunities that contribute to Uruguay’s country programme and global PFP priorities. This post will contribute with the organization´s goals as it will lead fundraising growth based in a sustainable, not earmarked and risk averse strategy, that will cover the financial needs of UCO’s programme, but also make sustainable contributions to promote children rights beyond borders through Regular Resources, LACRO’s Regional Thematic Fund and Emergencies. The incumbent will also guide a Corporate Engagement plan to influence the Private Sector in favour of Child Rights and Business Principles, develop a strategy for mobilizing donors for Children’s Rights and lead the relationship with the Corporate Council, celebrities, and the Media.
Key Accountabilities and Duties & Tasks

Define challenging but realistic fundraising goals and strategy, develop the annual work plan and budget to increase sustainable sources of income in a cost effective way, especially not earmarked and unrestricted resources to cover UCO needs (OR programme budget and fundraising costs) and other UNICEF priorities (global regular resources, Regional Thematic Fund and emergencies)
Effective development and management of implementation plans, ensuring the fulfilment of the UCO´s corporate and individual fundraising objectives and KPI´s
Mobilize other resources and capacities beyond fundraising
Mobilize donors for children´s rights and promote support to UNICEF´s work in the country and beyond in relevant issues in collaboration with Programme and Communication divisions.
Evaluation and negotiation of new and/or innovative fundraisings activities to develop Individual Giving’s products portfolio
Effective management and leadership of the Fundraising division
Effective coordination and collaboration with other Country Office divisions and key stakeholders

Should you be selected for a position with UNICEF, you either must be inoculated as required or receive a medical exemption from the relevant department of the UN. Otherwise, the selection will be canceled.
