Express Employment Professionals Cincinnati East is now hiring to fulfill a General Labor/Glazing Apprentice for a glass company in Mason, OH. The General Laborer/Glazing Apprentice assists skilled glaziers with the installation, repair, and replacement of glass in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This is an entry-level position ideal for candidates who are eager to learn the glazing trade. The role involves handling tools and materials, preparing work areas, and ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and safely.
Core Functions:
- Assist glaziers with measuring, cutting, handling, and installing glass.
- Prepare job sites by setting up ladders, scaffolding, and tools.
- Load, unload, and transport glass, frames, and related materials.
- Help remove broken or damaged glass and clean installation surfaces.
- Apply sealants, weatherstripping, and other protective materials under supervision.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Safely handle and store tools, equipment, and materials.
- Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures.
- Perform basic maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Support the glazier in meeting project deadlines and quality standards.
Skills, Abilities & Requirements:
- Ability to measure and perform basic math.
- Willingness to learn and follow instructions.
- Capable of lifting, carrying, and maneuvering heavy materials (50–100+ lbs).
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license preferred.
- Ability to pass background and drug screenings.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- High school diploma or equivalent (not required).
- No prior glazing experience required; on-the-job training provided.
- Experience in construction, carpentry, or a similar trade is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed both indoors (workshop) and outdoors (on-site installation).
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, climbing, and reaching required.
- May involve exposure to loud noises, glass dust, adhesives, and sealants.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn as required.
