DESCRIPTION:

The Nassau BOCES Department of Special Education is seeking General Special Education Teachers at various locations. Successful candidates must have experience working with students with learning, behavior, and social/emotional needs and possess strong skills in differentiated instruction. In addition, successful candidates must have demonstrated skills in data-informed instruction, Next Generation Learning Standards and New York State Alternate Assessments.

REQUIREMENTS:

• New York State Education Department Certification in at least two of the following areas is preferred:
• Students with Disabilities (Grades B-2)
• Students with Disabilities (Grades 1-6)
• Students with Disabilities (Grades 5-9)
• Students with Disabilities (Grades 7-12)
• Students with Disabilities (All Grades)
• Content Specialty required for middle and high school grades
• Experience working with a diverse range of student needs
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
• Demonstrated ability in providing small group instruction in academic areas is preferred
• Knowledge of Google Classroom and instructional technology

SALARY: As per labor contract
