DESCRIPTION:

The Department of Special Education at Nassau BOCES is currently seeking General Special Education Teachers. The successful candidates must have experience working with students with learning, behavior and social/emotional needs and possess strong skills in differentiated and specially designed instruction. In addition, the successful candidates must have demonstrated skills in data informed-instruction, Next Generation Learning Standards and New York State Alternate Assessments (NYSAA).

REQUIREMENTS:

• New York Department of Education Teaching Certification – Special Education.
• Experience working with a diverse range of student needs.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Experience in providing small group instruction in academic areas is preferred.
• Knowledge of Google Classroom and instructional technology.

SALARY: As per labor contract
