The EU-LAC Digital Alliance is the first bi-regional alliance for digital matters in the world. It provides a framework for the EU and countries in Latin America and the Caribbean to cooperate on technical and policy matters in fields such as meaningful connectivity, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data governance, e-governance, earth observation and others, with the aim of driving forward an inclusive and human-centered digital transformation in both regions. Based on the 2023 Joint Declaration for a Digital Alliance, it currently has 49 signatory members. Governments, regional organizations and other stakeholders such as civil society and private sector representatives meet at regular intervals for high-level policy dialogues to agree on and co-design cooperation opportunities. In September 2025, the members of the EU-LAC Digital Alliance will meet in Antigua, Guatemala to jointly prepare for the CELAC-EU Summit in Santa Marta, Colombia in November 2025.
In the context of the Alliance, the EU-LAC Digital Alliance Secretariat serves as both a project management unit, and as a coordination facility for members and partners of the Alliance. The Secretariat coordinates and supports the organization of high-level policy dialogues and other events, supports the implementation of technical activities, manages communications, supports monitoring and knowledge management and provides information for donors and partners on demand. The Secretariat team is based in Germany, Chile and Costa Rica and supports a wider team based in various locations in Europe and Latin America.
Against this background, and in preparation of the 2025 EU-LAC Digital Alliance Week and 2025 CELAC-EU Summit, the Secretariat is seeking an Event Management and Political Communications Intern (m/f/d) to support the team until the end of the year.
