<div class="isg-job-description“>Global Media Director (Hybrid – New York City)

The Global Media Director is a mission-critical leadership role responsible for unifying and elevating our client’s global media strategy to accelerate new client acquisition. This role drives enterprise-wide growth by transforming fragmented, unit-level media buying into a sophisticated, single global discipline focused on generating completed appointments with new pets.

A primary and immediate accountability is leading the full transition of our client’s $50M+ annual paid media investment to a single, newly-selected global agency partner. This involves consolidating seven incumbent agencies into one global partner and fully integrating planning, buying, and measurement across five distinct operating units and two regions to create a high-performance, demand-driving program.

Key Responsibilities

This role requires a balance of strategic leadership, hands-on execution, and change management in a complex, resource constrained environment.

Global Media Strategy & Execution

  • Lead the Agency Transition: Oversee the global migration from seven incumbent media agencies to the new consolidated global partner, ensuring seamless campaign continuity, clean handoffs, and on-time, on-budget completion.

  • Drive New Client Acquisition: Develop and execute advanced acquisition strategies to deliver measurable increases in first-time appointments with new pets by expanding reach and engagement.

  • Integrate Unit Media: Develop and implement a unified, global media strategy and plan across all operating units, aligning objectives, KPIs, and budget allocations to maximize enterprise organic growth.

  • Optimize Investment: Direct the global agency partner in the planning, buying, and optimization of integrated global and unit-level campaigns across all paid channels to maximize efficiency, reach, and ROI.

Platform, Measurement, & Innovation

  • Advance MarTech & Infrastructure: Partner closely with the Chief Digital & Information Officer (CDIO) and digital/data teams to modernize our client’s media platform and technology infrastructure.

  • Enable Next-Gen Capabilities: Unlock scalable growth by enabling advanced targeting, analytics, attribution, and automation.

  • Establish Measurement & Optimization: Establish shared performance metrics, reporting dashboards, and robust test-and-learn protocols to track performance, optimize spend, and scale successful pilot programs into investments.

Change Leadership & Team Management

  • Champion Modern Practices: Act as a change leader by championing the adoption of modern, data-driven media practices across operating units, coaching teams new to sophisticated marketing.

  • Build Business Cases: Design and execute pilots and apply challenger-control approaches to prove impact and build confidence, securing scaled funding.

  • Lead the Team: Build and lead a small global media team (approx. 2-3 FTEs over time) and effectively manage the outsourced global agency partner resources, focusing on performance, channel strategy, and innovation.

  • Stakeholder Alignment: Navigate and manage complex, matrixed relationships with unit client leads, finance, procurement, and the CDIO organization to ensure all media investments support enterprise growth objectives.

Required Qualifications
Knowledge & experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in digital advertising and media, gained within a global brand, consumer services company, or advertising agency.

  • Proven success leading large-scale agency transitions and global media consolidations.

  • Deep expertise in data, analytics, and technology platforms for media planning, buying, measurement, and automation.

  • Strong experience managing complex paid media budgets of $50M+, negotiating contracts, and optimizing ROI.

  • Demonstrated ability to innovate in consumer services marketing for high-involvement, high-emotional connection categories (e.g., financial services, hospitality, D2C subscription services). Note: This is not a job for packaged goods marketers.

  • Experience operating effectively in resource-constrained, complex, matrixed organizations, with a strong track record of influencing without direct authority.

  • Ability to design and scale pilots, test-and-learn programs, and business cases that build confidence and unlock future investment.

education

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field required. (MBA not required)

The pay for this W-2 position ranges from $175k – $250k annually. This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service.
