Reports to: Global Senior Planner

The role

This role is to work within a centralised European planning team across the Royal Canin brand in 16 markets.

The team’s main role is to develop appropriate full-funnel media plans based on globally defined strategy for each of our markets and deliver that brief for deployment, supporting them in seeing that through to successful execution.

As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for supporting the team with the planning and buying of media for our clients. This includes conducting research, analyzing data, efficiently delivering administrative tasks in running our campaigns, negotiating with media owners and suppliers, and presenting recommendations to clients. You will also be trained by our team to develop responsibility for maintaining client relationships and working closely with other specialist teams within the agency.

Royal Canin are a digital-only brand, so we are looking for someone who can show a passion for the digital media landscape and a willingness to learn about digital platforms and channels, particularly Search, Social and Display.

The Account Executive role will report into the Planner on the team who will be responsible for line management and developing the Executive to quickly progress. However, the rest of the team will also be on hand to ensure the Executive is well supported and getting good exposure to learn quickly about the world of media. We expect the successful candidate to be able to reach out to the wider team to ensure personal progress is being made.

Accountabilities include:

Client Management

  • Participate in calls and meetings with clients to understand their business, and discuss performance and future strategies
  • Work in the team to prepare and review presentations for our clients (both regional and local)

Media Planning

  • Work with global media vendors to develop “best in class” guidelines for the account e.g. META, Google, Tiktok, Spotify, Snapchat, Pinterest etc
  • Input media plans into planning templates and manage booking and reconciliation of campaign costs in EssenceMediacom’s systems and tools
  • Meet regularly with digital partners to increase understanding and knowledge the media landscape across Europe

Execution

  • Support in aggregation of output from media specialists – planning; reporting; insight/analysis
  • Supply reconciliations of delivery across the plan from each media owner/media specialist

Reporting & Optimisation

  • Work with the buying teams, and Planner/Senior Planner to interpret performance data and decide on optimisation opportunities
  • Organise and participate in calls and meetings with internal teams and publishers discussing performance and future strategies
  • Support in making recommendations for how we could optimise to get the best out of our media
  • Use and input data into our internal tools and systems in a timely fashion
  • Support in delivery of post-campaign analysis and insights

Team Management

  • Work with the Senior Planner/Planner to understand the targets, media solutions and analysis techniques required to maximise effectiveness of our plans, and provide strong media delivery and financial reconciliation
  • Keep track of plans, spends, contact lists and other common folders and files for RC account team
  • Help in coordinating the communication flow with EssenceMediacom hubs, and Local EssenceMediacom (where relevant)
  • Support in any other admin associated with the Royal Canin EU team
