Position description
Uber is seeking a highly skilled and strategically-minded individual to join our Global Security team as a Global Strategic Analyst. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and security of Uber personnel, assets, and operations by conducting security analysis and producing critical intelligence products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geopolitical analysis with the ability to produce high-quality strategic and tactical intelligence products.
What You’ll Do:
- Geopolitical Monitoring: Monitor and analyze geopolitical trends and their potential impact on Uber employee life & safety and business operations. Produce and disseminate intelligence products on relevant geopolitical events and developments
- Tactical and Strategic Production: Author tactical and strategic production, ensuring intelligence is actionable, timely, and relevant to Uber’s security needs. Collaborate with other Global Security and external stakeholders to provide comprehensive security insights
- Production Planning: Oversee the production plan for your assigned portfolio. Ensure the timely delivery of high-quality tactical and strategic intelligence reports and briefings. Coordinate with other members of the Strategic Analysis team on larger analytic projects with regional input and insights.
- Risk Analysis: Conduct holistic risk analysis and make recommendations to reduce and preempt such risk through geospatial analysis and other analytic techniques.
Basic Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide clear, actionable insights
- Robust understanding of geopolitical and security landscapes, and the impact this has to employee life safety and business operations
- Proficiency in managing global stakeholder relationships and navigating complex corporate structures
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced analytic environment and manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
- Experience presenting analytic findings to senior management and executives
- Broad understanding of all-source intelligence collection capabilities in the private sector
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise using various risk assessment and intelligence analysis methodologies and tools to help identify and mitigate strategic and tactical risks and threats to employees and operations
- Experience with security operations and analysis
- This position requires a bachelor’s degree in international relations, political science, security studies or a related field
- Qualitative analysis of risk, threat, and incident trends at the strategic level from internal and external data sources
- Advanced degree preferred. The position requires at least 4 years of intelligence analysis experience
- This position requires knowledge of Google Suite, including the ability to conduct basic analysis in Sheets and produce briefings in Slides
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$90,000 per year – USD$100,000 per year.
